December 3rd, 2017 – For this assignment, I had to play around with a lot of different technical features for my camera. Since my camera is limited in its capabilities I was not able to complete this assignment with ease. This week we had to play around with our camera’s manual focus to get an object in the foreground to be more in focus and create a blur of the background. Additionally, we had to also capture an image without a focal point to see how the two compare.
My camera is unfortunately set to an auto-focus so trying to capture an image without focal point and capturing it with a specific focal point involved taking a series of several images, playing around with vantage points and camera settings, and repeatedly pressing the focus button to change the point of focus on the image. In the end I managed to capture an image without a focal point and an image where the focal point was at the forward most part of the rock.
