Day 116 – Unexpected Stay

August 28th, 2016 – Today was our last day for Chicago or so we thought. Shortly after checking out we packed up our cars and found my brother’s car wouldn’t start. To our luck, it was a Sunday, meaning most auto repair shops were closed.

After an hour of searching we found an auto repair shop that was open. We realized that we were not going to be getting home at a decent hour. While we waited for the tow truck we each settled to stay an extra night so my brother can leave with a fixed car.

We got the car taken in and now had to wait for them to give their diagnosis. Meanwhile, it was hot, so my girlfriend and I took advantage of this extra day to go swimming. We enjoyed a nice swim before heading into our room to discuss dinner. After conversing we all settled to go to The Cheesecake Factory in a mall near the hotel. There was a bit of a wait to get a seat, but that only gave us time to explore the vast mall that was still open despite it being past mall hours.
